Melting Ice

First, our class did an experiment to see what would melt ice the quickest, water, salt, or baking soda.

While we waited we worked as a team to melt an ice cube using our hands.

It was a little messy, but lots of fun 🙂

  1. This looks like a great experiment to do, especially during summer. We have just finish winter and are heading into Spring now so it is still a little bit too cold to do that experiment. Maybe we might try near the end of our school year when it is nice and warm.
How long did it take to melt the ice cube in your hands?

    • How cold does it get where you are from? Does it snow there? We are still having over 100 degree days here, so the ice melting was a good challenge for us 🙂 It took about two minutes to melt the ice in our hands.
