Happy 100th day of school! The one hundredth day of school fell on the PERFECT day. In math we switched from customary measurement to metric and we were learning that 100 centimeters equal one meter. We had fun races/competitions throughout the day. Our first race was to make a list of five things that were shorter than 100 centimeters and five things that were longer than 100 centimeters. Then we raced to write down ways to make 100 (number sentences). After recess we formed six groups and competed in teams.
Our first race was putting together a hundred chart.
The next challenge … which team can work together to build a tower of 100 cups the fastest.
Next up … building the TALLEST tower of 100 cups.
Our third team challenge was to build the tallest, free standing straw structure (supplies: 100 straws and a pair of scissors).
Record: 73 centimeters (not pictured … Ms. Pjura’s forgetful … it was a really awesome looking structure too 🙁 sorry!)
It was a super FUN FRIDAY!!
